Dispute resolution and litigation activities are central to most corporate commercial law firms and senior Interlawyers throughout the network have established particular expertise in the field. Many serve on permanent panels of arbitrators or mediators, speak at universities and professional meetings, and have been appointed to arbitration/mediation boards in industries as diverse as sports to construction. Several Interlawyers have published academic papers in the area of arbitration, and many others provide guidance on international standards and expectations. The global Arbitration and Litigation Special Business Team was founded by Hansjörg Stutzer of Zürich and Jim Harrowell of Sydney and is one of the most prolific of the Association. The team meets regularly at professional congresses and Interlaw conferences, often joined by practitioners from other Special Business Teams, most recently, for example, collaborating with Sports Law.
